Katharina Borchert

Chief Innovation Officer, MOZILLA

Katharina Borchert studied law in Hamburg and Lausanne and worked in the Human Rights sector in Namibia and Switzerland before she got caught up in the Web. She served as editor in chief of an early print magazine about the Internet and continued to write for and about the Web after the magazine went down with the rest of the economy. She joined WAZ NewMedia in 2006 and launched the regional news site DerWesten as editor in chief. In 2008 she was promoted to the management board of the WAZ Media Group. From 2010 until 2015 Katharina Borchert went on to work as CEO of Germany’s leading news site SPIEGEL ONLINE. She was nominated as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2011. Since 2016 she is Mozilla’s Chief Innovation Officer. Katharina serves as the senior executive broadly responsible for fostering and enriching Mozilla´s culture of open innovation, internally and externally. Katharina is a passionate networker and slightly addicted to chocolate and social media.

Jan-Menko Grummer, Partner Head of Assurance Nort-East Germany, has been in charge of several major international and listed clients in various industries for many years. He has also advised some of the most important startups in Berlin and Hamburg. In particular, he focuses on initial public offerings (IPOs) and his consulting work covers the entire life cycle of startups. Jan-Menko Grummer is auditor and tax consultant. He regularly publishes articles on financial topics on the homepage Gründerszene.de.

Mark joined Vertical Media as Co-Founder and CEO in April 2010. Before taking this position he was Editor-in-Chief of the B2B games news service GameBizz.

Prior to his assignments at Vertical Media, he was involved in several other online and media startups such as Turtle Entertainment, GIGA Digital and SponsorPay (later known as Fyber), where he worked as Assistant to CEO, TV Presenter and Managing Editor. 

Lars Hinrichs

CEO Cinco Capital GmbH, Founder HackFwd & XING

Lars Hinrichs is Founder and CEO of Cinco Capital, a private equity fund that invests in European and American tech companies. In 2003 he founded XING, a highly successful business networking platform. As Founder and CEO, Lars oversaw its IPO in 2006, making XING the world’s first Web 2.0 company to go public. In 2010 he founded HackFwd, an innovative pre-seed investment company that supported Europe’s most passionate geeks in launching the world’s most exciting tech startups. Lars is an active member of the Young Global Leaders (YGL) of the World Economic Forum and the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Since 2013 he is a member of the Advisory Board of Deutsche Telekom AG. His current project is the Apartimentum, a house with smart home technology, which is currently under construction in Hamburg.

Claire England

Executive Director Central Texas Angel Network

Claire England is Executive Director of Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN), the most active angel investing organization in the United States, having invested over $70 million USD in more than 130 startups since 2006. A native of Austin, Texas, her background includes 18+ years of executive and nonprofit leadership. She worked on local and international startup ecosystem projects for clients including SXSW Interactive, Tech Ranch, and St. Edward’s University before joining CTAN. She also serves as a public speaker, moderating panels, giving solo talks and keynotes, and judging pitch competitions at SXSW Festival, the international Rice Business Plan Competition, and more.

Previously, Claire was Executive Director of the RISE conference – the Relationship & Information Series for Entrepreneurs. Under her leadership, RISE became a Forbes “Must-Attend 2013 Conference for Entrepreneurs,” more than doubling its impact on Austin’s startup ecosystem through new relationships with investors, business leaders, and corporate partners like Dell and American Airlines. In 2013, she was named a finalist for Austin Business Journal’s Profiles in Power – Women of Influence Award. She volunteers her time as Founding Advisory Board member for the World Economic Forum’s Austin Global Shapers Hub, Startup America’s Austin Chair, and Mentor for social impact accelerator, UnLtd USA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree cum laude from Texas State University with a Major in Mass Communication – Public Relations and a Minor in Music – Cello and Vocal Performance.

Ralf Dümmel

Managing Partner DS Produkte & Investor “Die Höhle der Löwen”

Ralf Dümmel began his career in the 80s with DS Produkte as the sales assistant of the founder as employee No. 12. Over the years he learned the business from the scratch and took over more and more responsibility until he became the managing partner in 2000. DS Produkte has today a revenue of 250.000.000 Euro, 400 employees and more than 4000 products in its portfolio. Since 2016 he is the new lion in the German TV format „Die Höhle der Löwen” (VOX) on the hunt for young entrepreneurs with brilliant products.
Every year, he is traveling many weeks around the world to visit suppliers and customers, especially in Asia, but his base is in the north of Germany. The father of 3 children is living in Hamburg, loves football and good food.

Chelsea Collier

Co-Founder Impact Hub Austin

Chelsea has participated in the launch more than a dozen companies and has lived and worked in Austin for 16 years. She is Co-Founder of Impact Hub Austin, an Austin-based hub for entrepreneurs connected to 11,000 social good members around the world and Wake Up, a professional and personal development company. She is also preparing to launch another company, Mable, that produces modular furniture made of sustainable materials and manufactured in the US.   She advises and counsels dozens of startups through her consulting firm, Intercambio, which develops partnerships and expands influence in economic development, tech policy, social+civic impact and entrepreneurship.

Jan Brorhilker, Manager Region North-East, has been providing support to international and listed companies for several years focusing on startup companies as well as private equity. After the merger with the sister journal PAGE, I am now working as an editor – finally homebased in Berlin, without constantly commuting fom Berlin to Hamburg. I describe myself as Internet-dinosaur, because I worked in the field of digital media since 1993 as an editor, and communications consultant watching the Internet and social media growing-up. Since then I report on new technologies, future-oriented projects, social media, start-up culture and digital art. I also coach small businesses and startups build their communication and press relations.

Dr. Alexander Eulenburg

Dr. Alexander Graf zu Eulenburg is Partner at Hanse Ventures. He is responsible for controlling and finance, and supports transaction and financing projects.
Alex (born in 1972) has a PhD in Physics. He has many years of experience in corporate finance, gained in investment banking at JP Morgan, WestLB Panmure and M.M. Warburg & CO in London and Hamburg. At M.M. Warburg, he was director with responsibility for M&A, capital market and venture transactions, focused on IT, technology, internet and media industries, before joining Hanse Ventures in 2012.

Sina Gritzuhn

Sina Gritzuhn is co-founder and Managing Director of Hamburg Startups, a platform for startups founded in Hamburg. Her responsibilities are the implementation of the startup monitor and managing editorial communications. Sina studied Journalism and Communications Studies at the University of Hamburg. After graduation she was employed as a PR and social media professional in various startups before working as a social media editor at beebop media AG and and as a roving reporter for the initiative Hamburg@work from early 2013. Sina has co-organized numerous events, accompanying them with editorial coverage, including through various social media channels. She was also responsible for editorial of image films such as the Backyard TV project of the initiative Hamburg @ work. Sina has been blogging at sinaswelt.com for three years on topics related to Hamburg, social media and startups. As a self-confessed social media addict and startup evangelist she has been an active part of the Hamburg startup scene for more than three years now and the web is her home. 

Marc-Sven Kopka

Marc-Sven Kopka has held the position of Vice President Corporate Communications at XING AG, a publicly listed company, since January 2010. Besides being in charge of public relations, in January 2014 he also assumed responsibility for XING’s Corporate Marketing and Social Media divisions. Before joining XING, Marc-Sven Kopka spent four years at WestLB AG in Düsseldorf, most recently as Group Head Corporate Communications where he was in charge of public relations, marketing, investor relations, events, etc. Prior to that, Marc-Sven Kopka was Communications Director at AOL Deutschland before being appointed Vice President Corporate Communications at AOL Europe in London. He started his career as a public relations consultant at various PR agencies before being made PR manager at AXA Colonia AG.

Franziska von Lewinski

Franziska von Lewinski was born on 1 June 1972, since 01.09.2014 she is  board member of  the fischerAppelt group. She is the fourth member of the board in addition to Andreas Fischer-Appelt, Bernhard Fischer-Appelt and Frank Behrendt. Von Lewinski is head of the department Digital and innovations. Since summer 2008, Franziska von Lewinski was CEO of Interone and since the merger of .start and Interone in January 2010 CEO of the new agency. She has many years of experience in the areas of digital marketing, cross-selling and multi-channel communications, and consumer behavior. Von Lewinski was responsible for award-winning projects such as the re-launch of the website bmw.com and supervised Blueship customers like BMW, O2 or Unilever. The trained construction engineer who lives in Hamburg, is married and mother of two daughters.

Dr. Heiko Milde

Dr. Heiko Milde (M.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Ph.D. Computer Science) has spent the last twelve years promoting and financing innovative start-ups and developing young companies. He began his career at a private venture capital firm and has been involved in the field of econonic development for the last eight years. Since 2011 he has been Managing Director of IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH, a subsidiary of the business development bank Hamburgischen Investitions- und Förderbank.

Frauke Mispagel

Managing Director Axel Springer Plug and Play

Frauke Mispagel is Managing Director of Axel Springer Plug and Play and invests in digital start-ups in a pre-seed stage. After graduating from WHU and spending 4 years in Investment Banking in London, she started her own start-up in Berlin. Although she had to give up the business, she stayed in the start-up scene and first managed the international roleout of Zalando into 8 new countries before she moved to the investors’ side – first as Head of Digital M&A for Bauer Media Group and lately as Managing Director of Axel Springer Plug and Play. Frauke’s expertise is the financing of start-ups.

Detlef Schwarte (born 1969) – The sociologist is co-founder of the Reeperbahn Festival, Germany´s largest club festival and most important conference for the music and digital industry. As managing director Schwarte is responsible for the international conference of the Reeperbahn Festival that includes a programme of more than 150 sessions, networking events, showcases and award shows and hosts more than 3,000 delegates from 35 countries. Furthermore as partner and managing director of Inferno Events, a Hamburg public events agency, he designs and implements corporate and public events such as Night of KnowledgeHamburg Night of Theatre or German Unification Day 2008. Schwarte attends international conferences year round and speaks regularly on panels, e.g. at Eurosonic Noorderslag (NL), Canadian Music Week (CA), By:larm (NOR) or BIME (ES).

Prof. Dr. Christoph Ihl

Academic Director TUHH Institute of Entrepreneurship

Christoph Ihl is professor at Hamburg University of Technology, acting as academic director of the TUHH Startup Dock and head of the TUHH Institute of Entrepreneurship (TIE). His research investigates how entrepreneurial activity is affected by actors’ embeddedness in social and cultural spaces that describe a given market, technology or knowledge domain, by using computational and econometric methods. Christoph Ihl gained academic experience primarily at technical universities outstanding in terms of entrepreneurial culture. He studied industrial and mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and completed the MBA program of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He obtained a doctoral degree from Technische Universität München for his work on innovation and marketing of customer-centric business models. He worked as assistant professor at RWTH Aachen University, working on organizing open and distributed processes of corporate innovation and entrepreneurship. In entrepreneurship teaching and practice, he advocates „Startup Engineering“ as an evidence-based, experimental approach to the systematic discovery of scalable business models. Christoph Ihl has developed expertise in this field in applied research and consulting projects with companies and startups.

Sanja Stankovic

Initiator Startups@Reeperbahn, Co-Founder Hamburg Startups & #DMW

The emphases of her professional activity is put on the fields of public relations, digital strategy and on mobile applications. She managed the division for digital strategy, PR and social media at Nordpol+ PR Division Hamburg. Before, she established the international social media-department for NAVIGON AG and worked as a social media manager at segmenta pr for national and international clients. She worked as a strategic adviser for different agencies and companies and as curator for the Reeperbahn Festival Conference and the Hamburg activities at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Since 2016 she is also responsible for the Communication at DS Produkte for new investor of the TV-format (VOX) “Die Höhle der Löwen”. 

As initiator of the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch she is working on the setup and expansion of the format and therefore she co-founded Hamburg Startups with the goal to enhance the visibility of Hamburg’s startup scene as well as to improve networking among it’s players. She is also the Co-Founder of the network Digital Media Women, where she contributes the goal of making women more visible in the digital industries.

Conny is a trick of all trades. Before she slipped into journalism, she worked as a professional horse rider, a musician and a pastry maker for seven years. After sharpening her skills at a Hamburg based radio station she is now in the employ of deutsche-startups.de, an online magazine with reports about the lively scene of founders and investors, and with daily news from the exciting world of venture capitalism. Conny’s focus rests especially on upcoming female entrepreneurs. Juana M. Sacristan started her career as Business Analyst at McKinsey & CO, the global management consulting Firm, in Spain and Portugal. After three years as Principal at MCH Private Equity (a Madrid-based private Equity Firm with currently over 500 million Euros total funds under management), she moved with her husband to Hamburg, Germany in 2003. She joined then Hartmann Zillmer and Corporate Finance (a successful M&A boutique) and later on Eventure Capital Partners -a venture capital firm, launched in California in 1998 and currently also present in Germany, Russia, Asia and Brazil, with five local funds. Before founding AUDEAMUS CAPITAL Juana M. Sacristan was Head of Business Development and Strategy at Engel & Völkers, one of the world’s leading service companies specialized in the sale and rental of premium residential property, commercial real estate and yachts.

Juana M. Sacristan studied Law and Economics at the Universidad de Deusto, Spain, finishing with Summa Cum laude. She holds a Master in European Studies for Universidad de Deusto and was granted a Fulbright Scholarship to complete her MBA from Columbia University, New York, USA.
She is a Spanish native speaker, fluent in German, English and French. Happily married and mother of three beautiful children (with ages ranging from 4 to 11), she is a passionate art collector.
