Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch – it’s that time again!

Our temperatures are rising! How about yours? It should be, because something AWESOME is coming your way! Once again, you will have the chance this year to rock the Hamburg Kiez at the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch on 23 September along with four other fantastic startups. It’s going to get hot. Smouldering startup passion meets the flair of the scene. We are equally passionate about organising the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch for you in cooperation with the Reeperbahn Festival.

Pitch to a high-class jury, including SPIEGEL ONLINE Managing Director Katharina Borchert, Shazam founder Chris Barton or XING and HackFwd founder Lars Hinrichs, to take home the SPIEGEL ONLINE MEDIA Award and a first prize of €100,000. Afterwards, you can take a seat again in one of our Love Mobiles to hook up with interested investors, just waiting to make a play for closer business liaisons with you. Does that get your creative juices flowing? Then apply here. Or click here for more information. The closing date for applications is 23 August!

‘Our Pitch at Startups@Reeperbahn 2014 was one of the coolest days in the history of TripRebel. I remember it as if it were yesterday… First, being able to pitch in the heart of the Reeperbahn, in a charming basement to a room full of journalists, investors and startup enthusiasts was, in itself, amazing! I have never seen such an engaged audience for a startup pitch in my life… no joke. Even before being declared the winner of the night, we were giving interviews to some of the most prestigious newspapers in Germany, agreeing on follow-up meetings with investors and chatting with potential partners or people that proactively offered to help’,

says the 2014 Startups@Reeperbahn winner Carlos Borges from TripRebel. The travel startup from Hamburg showed a deft touch in investing the SPIEGEL ONLINE MEDIA Award, managing to target its product at a wide audience.

The media budget provided by Spiegel Online was the first opportunity we had to present TripRebel to a broader audience and was the start of the strong growth path we are on now. I firmly advise any early-stage startup out there to apply to Startups@Reeperbahn… there’s nothing like being the king of the Reeperbahn for one wonderful, magical night.

Startups@Reeperbahn – more than just any old pitch

Besides hordes of journalists and another 300 VIPs invited from Germany’s digital and media industries, participants can look forward to rubbing shoulders with investors: continuing the tradition of previous years, the investors attending the event will, the very same evening, whisk the pitch participants off for a more intimate business tête-à-tête in one of our Love Mobiles parked in front of the venue. And anyone adept enough to hard sell their business idea at one of these meetings might just find themselves following in the footsteps of Tinnitracks, our 2013 winning team, laying the foundations for important deals in the future.

Awesome contact rate: 25 startup VIPS are waiting with baited breath to see your pitch decks

It gets better! All startups that apply to take part in the pitch will be vetted in advance by our high-class panel. Over 25 visionaries from the startup industry will sift, discuss and fight it out to pick the five finalists for 23 September. And there’s a fair old buzz that whips through that crew from time to time, as well. Just imagine: the following hands and minds caressing your start-up idea…

Über 25 Persönlichkeiten aus dem Hamburger Startup Ökosystem warten auf Eure Pitchdecks! Sie wählen Ende August gemeinsam die fünf Finalisten aus.

Over 25 visionaries from the Hamburg startup ecosystem are waiting for your pitch decks! They will come together at the end of August to pick the five finalists.

Sounds fantastic! How can I apply with my startup idea?

It couldn’t be easier: just read through the most important information and then send an English pitch deck to pitchdeck@hamburg-startups.net. We look forward to receiving your applications!

…and it all ends with a PARTY!

Like last year, the pitch wouldn’t be complete without the aftershow party. But this time we’ll have even more space. You’ll be able to book your tickets for the party soon.

‘A truly creative setting, a multifaceted programme and a strong selection of startups! I believe that integrating startups as part of the Reeperbahn Festival has been a resounding success’,

Says Philipp Baumgärtel, Chief Executive Officer at Lightboys, one of the guests last year. Elke Fleing, Startup Consultant and Editor of deutsche-startups.de was just as taken by the pitch evening:

‘There is no doubt that the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch is one of the highlights in the startup scene. Held in the setting of a fantastic festival, this pitch is a lighthouse with immense growth potential for all participating startups – and radiates as far as the SXSW in Austin. The jury is absolutely first class, and a large number of prominent startup experts also sit on the panel. The immense publicity brings plenty of reach and visibility for everyone involved. Absolutely one of my favourite events.’
