The Hamburg summer of 2018 is hot, even in September. But hotter still was our Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch in its sixth edition. At the end we had two deserved winners: COLDPLASMATECH was the favourite of the audience, while Cargonexx convinced the jury the most and became the main winner. Here we summarize the highlights of a memorable day.
Not for long, then our large Hamburg Startups delegation sets off for South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. COLDPLASMATECH is participating as the winner of the audience award at the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch. The company from Greifswald treats chronic wounds with cold plasma. We explain how this works.
A software for better utilization of trucks, a solution for healing chronic wounds, career opportunities for highly qualified people in Africa, a platform for personnel development and a digital logbook – these are the topics of the candidates who will be on stage at the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch. In our mini-series about the new Next Media Accelerator participants we present today: Shuut from Tallinn, heysite from Cologne and Cinuru from Potsdam. These startups answer questions about how to make promotional videos and build websites as easily as possible and how an app can help art house cinemas.
The Next Media Accelerator (NMA) is an institution in Hamburg’s startup scene by now. Meanwhile the seventh batch is already at the start. We introduce all the latest participants in a little series and start with two projects with which the NMA is once again breaking new ground: The Distriqt and Cloud Stories.
The startup world never stands still. Small and big dramas happen every day, small and big triumphs are celebrated and new ideas and business models are born. Hamburg Startups has been accompanying and documenting events in the Hanseatic city for a number of years and has reported in hundreds of articles and news reports again in 2017. Today we look back on the year that has just ended.
What do the following have in common: a programme for data analysis, a digital ID card, interactive apps for children, software for tax invoices, and a new form of watch party? On 20 September these will all take centre stage at Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch. That is to say, the five finalists for our international startup competition have been chosen; now we will summarise for you who these finalists are and how the decision was made.
You have recently founded your own startup. Then I bet at some point soon you will be looking for customers (aka „pilots“ or „beta-testers“) and eventually some considerable amount of cash to help you get things moving.
The sentence “The event has exceeded all expectations” should be used with parsimony. As far as the Food Innovation Camp held by Hamburg Startups in cooperation with the Gastgewerbe magazine is concerned, this statement is absolutely appropriate. We are still quite overwhelmed, but let’s take a first look back.
The SXSW-Festival 2017 is now over, and Hamburg startups that had made it to Texas are back in the Hansestadt. Time to take a look back on these few unforgettable days!
